Day 2: Transit to the Queen’s Meadow (Ranikhet)

After breakfast, head deeper into the mountains toward Ranikhet, a town known for its impeccable cleanliness, ancient temples, and the Kumaon Regimental Centre.

  • Morning: Enjoy a scenic drive through winding roads lined with oak and pine forests.

  • Afternoon: Upon arrival and check-in, visit the Upat Golf Course, one of the highest 9-hole golf courses in Asia. Surrounded by lush green meadows and towering deodars, it offers a stunning backdrop for a nature walk. Just nearby is the Kalika Temple, dedicated to Goddess Kali.

  • Evening: Explore the local Ranikhet bazaar or take a “Nature Walk” along the forest trails. The town is famous for its panoramic views of the Himalayan range, including Nanda Devi and Trishul.

  • Dinner: Served at the hotel.

  • Overnight: Stay in Ranikhet.

Day 3: Heritage, Orchards, and Departure

Savor your final mountain breakfast before exploring the heritage and greenery of Ranikhet.

  • Morning: Visit the Jhula Devi Temple, famous for the thousands of bells tied by devotees. Close by is the Haidakhan Babaji Temple, which offers a serene atmosphere and excellent views.

  • Mid-Day: Explore the Chaubatia Orchards, sprawling gardens famous for apples, plums, and peaches. It is an ideal spot for a long, descriptive nature walk with 360-degree views of the peaks. If time permits, visit the KRC (Kumaon Regimental Centre) Museum to learn about the bravery of the Indian Army.

  • Afternoon: Begin the return journey toward Delhi/NCR.

  • Night: Reach Delhi/NCR by late evening, carrying the freshness of the Kumaon hills back with you.

Important Notes for Travelers:

  • The “Nature Walk” Experience: Ranikhet is best explored on foot. Wear comfortable walking shoes to enjoy the forest trails and orchard paths.
  • Photography: Keep your camera ready at the Upat Golf Course and Chaubatia; these spots offer some of the clearest views of the Himalayan snow peaks in the region.
  • Weather: Ranikhet can be cooler than Bhimtal due to its higher elevation and dense forest cover. A light jacket is recommended even in the summer months.
  • Local Transport: Large coaches may have restricted access to very narrow internal lanes in Ranikhet; a local taxi may be required for specific core area sightseeing (extra charges apply).
